Introducing Team Ecosse Northboats
Your Cycling Club in Inverurie, Aberdeenshire
We are delighted to be able to provide youth (under 18) coached sessions by British Cycling registered club coaches. This will enable children to come along and develop their bike skills whether for fun or to compete. Parents are encouraged to take part in this fun and rewarding activity.
Team Ecosse Northboats Cycling Club is the friendliest and most fun cycling club in Aberdeenshire. How do we know? Because our members tell us so!
Established in 2014, we are sponsored by local boatbuilder and repairer, Northboats, and are a very sociable group affiliated to Scottish Cycling and based in Inverurie. We are primarily interested in providing a friendly and easy going environment in which to cycle, whether you are completely new to the sport or a seasoned veteran!
We would love to have you along to ride with us so please do get in touch, especially if you find it daunting joining a new group. All our riders are approachable, welcoming and safety conscious creating a relaxed atmosphere to cycle.
As an introduction to the club, we have a welcome ride on Monday evenings during the summer, which all new riders attend at least one of. It's also suitable however for everyone looking to improve their skills or confidence.
New for 2018, this ride will be also be supported by qualified coaches.

To help our riders remain as safe as possible, we consider SPACE in all we do. The word is on our shorts as a way of highlighting to drivers the importance of giving riders space but it also has another meaning....
I.C.E. - In Case of Emergency
Along with our commitment to safe cycling and our SPACE campaign, we have developed a template for an ICE card which can be printed out and filled in with personalised emergency information. The card is designed to be small and compact so that it will easily fit alongside a phone, in a jersey pocket or other easily accessible location. Many apps and smartphones have this capability and while this would be encouraged, there is always the possibility of a phone being damaged in an accident or running out of battery.
All our members are encouraged to take emergency information with them and if nothing else, this is a useful backup to carry with you just in case the unexpected happens.
