Northboats Road Race 2023
Report and Results

The sun was out and mild weather greeted 34 starters at Fetternear Hall. A strong breeze eased just before the start leaving ferfect conditions for racing.

Unfortunately for Grant Sandison, he punctured after 1.9km which ended his race before it had barely begun.

​

An early fast pace created gaps with three groups establishing. Five went up the road followed by a chasing seven with another seven behind them. All groups worked well together but there was no reduction in the gaps, the convoy working hard to keep the groups safe.

The fifth and final time up the climb to the finish and the sprint was won by Tim Shoreman, with Elliot Rowe crossing the line just 0.3s behind. Sam Carrotte was 3 s behind them with Matiss Robertson and Neil Scott making up the top 5.

Elliot was also first junior with Innes Jamieson just beating TEN member Steven Sharp to first Cat 4 rider.

Also a shout out to John Thomson, down from Shetland, for finishing strongly in his first competitive race.
