Committee attend Scottish Cycling AGM and Awards

The annual Scottish Cycling AGM is an important session of the year but it also includes a conference, officials session and awards dinner rolled into one packed weekend. This year, three of our committee went to the Inchyra Hotel in Falkirk to attend the session.

As well as the formalities of the AGM, the conference included interesting discussions around topics such as coach development, community engagement and the encouragement of women and girls into the sport. There were also questions around why we ride in a club and/or why we volunteer and it was important to delve into these to remind us of the importance and enjoyment we do get from cycling.

The committee have taken down a load of notes and ideas of new initiatives for TEN and we'll be looking at which we can implement to continue to improve the club moving forwards.

The awards dinner in the evening offered the chance to reflect and celebrate the achievements of clubs, volunteers and elite athletes from the past year. Amongst those in attendance were Jack Carlin, Jenny Holl, Charlie Aldridge and Finn Graham. It was also nice to see Eilidh Shaw enjoying herself after her starring role in Inverurie during the Bike and Blether session!
